Maintenance Manager

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance programs. The ideal candidate must be results-driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of plant maintenance budget activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all chemicals, lubricants, etc. entering the facility meet food safety guidelines.
  • Directs the maintenance team on repairs necessary to ensure safe food manufacturing practices are met.
  • Ensure complete and accurate records related to all GMP and HACCP activities are maintained including documentation of amendments to the Programs.
  • Ensures periodic inspections of equipment and systems are completed to observe operating condition and need for repair or adjustment.
  • Supervises repairs/projects carried out by Contractors and ensures the quality of their work and their adherence to deadlines through rigorous follow-ups.
  • Enforces the company's current policies and procedures and the occupational health and safety program, in accordance with all applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Recognize, support and commit to the facility food safety and quality assurance program.
  • Responsible for managing 3 shifts of maintenance employees.
  • Maintaining programs including LOTO, Safeguarding, Work Orders, etc.
  • Oversees all preventative maintenance programs to ensure smooth running of the manufacturing process through the use of the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Competencies

  • A Red Seal Millwright license with extensive experience OR a mechanical engineer/engineering technician with 5-10 years of previous experience.
  • Ability to manage capital projects and daily maintenance activity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule to meet plant requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety.
