Senior Project Manager – Low Voltage Systems (Aviation Projects)

Location: Remote or Hybrid (U.S.-based)

A nationally respected engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee low voltage system design projects within the aviation sector. This role will manage large-scale terminal builds, renovations, and standalone system upgrades at major U.S. airports. The scope covers IT, communications, security, audio-visual, and other airport-specific technology systems.

This is a hands-on leadership position, responsible for guiding multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, overseeing design deliverables, and coordinating with construction stakeholders through all phases of a project—from concept through closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead low voltage system design efforts from concept through construction closeout

  • Manage internal design teams including engineers, designers, subject matter experts, and external subconsultants

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and consultants

  • Coordinate with owners and project stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, and budget

  • Oversee development of technical drawings, specifications, QA/QC processes, and system documentation

  • Support construction administration activities: contractor coordination, testing, commissioning, and training

  • Facilitate clear and concise communication through meetings and progress reports

  • Ensure alignment with airport regulations and project-specific standards

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in low voltage or electrical systems design and consulting

  • Prior experience managing airport design and construction projects is required

  • Strong understanding of FAA, CBP, and other aviation-related regulatory standards

  • Proficient in project management tools and software, including BIM, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Skilled in managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

  • Associate's degree in Applied Science or related field required; Bachelor's preferred

  • Industry certifications such as RCDD, PSP, CTS-D are preferred; PE license is a plus

  • Active participation in professional industry organizations is valued
