Paramedic

About the Position
Veterans Medical Transport is looking for experienced and motivated Paramedics to join our interfacility transport division supporting Kaiser Permanente patients. This role is centered on safe, professional transfers between clinics, hospitals, and emergency departments — not 911 response. You'll gain consistent hours, valuable clinical exposure, and the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced life support and quality patient care during interfacility transports
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patients throughout transport
• Provide interventions including IV therapy, medication administration, and ventilator management (eligible for specialty pay)
• Carry out advanced airway management such as intubation and ventilation
• Reassess patient status and give detailed handoff reports to receiving facilities
• Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation (ePCR)
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, facilities, and team members
• Keep vehicles, equipment, and supplies in a clean, ready state
• Option to serve as a preceptor for EMT students (with approval)

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Paramedic license (other Georgia EMT levels welcome to apply)
• High school diploma or GED
• Active CPR certification
• Prior interfacility or critical care transport experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and medical knowledge base
• Physically able to lift and move patients during transport
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

What We Offer

• Flexible scheduling: 12-hour and 24-hour shifts
• Pay differentials:
• EMT-R/B/A/I: +$1/hr (Sat & Sun, 8 AM–8 PM)
• EMT-R/B/A/I: +$2/hr (Sat & Sun, 8 PM–8 AM)
• Paramedics: +$5/hr every night (8 PM–8 AM)
• Specialty bonus: $150 per ventilator transport (after post-licensure training)
