As the School Building Leader (Principal) of Gersh Academy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students and the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of effective school procedures aligned with our mission and goals.
- Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
- Manage the budget with a focus on staffing and instructional needs.
- Inspire and mentor staff to achieve excellence, serving as a role model in professionalism and dedication to education.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that prioritizes student, employee, and visitor welfare.
- Collaborate with staff, students, families, and other educational leaders to ensure the success of our programs.
- Champion Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes, promoting a student-centric approach.
- Represent the school at local and state events and professional meetings, showcasing our commitment to excellence.
Requirements:
- A graduate degree from an accredited institution, preferably in educational leadership.
- Valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL) certification preferred
- Three to five (5) years of proven leadership experience in education.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a school/clinic setting with special education students.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in special education.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to assist in physical restraint if necessary.

Salary range is $100,000- $150,000 depending on experience and certifications
The pay range for this role is:
100,000 - 150,000 USD per year (Queens LIC)
