We are seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist for our Sacramento, California facility. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory management systems. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, investigating stock adjustments, and maintaining meticulous records. Your work directly impacts our logistics operations by ensuring that our stock levels are accurate, which is crucial for order fulfillment and operational planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse inventory principles. Safety is paramount in our operations; therefore, you must consistently adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role may involve some lifting and movement of inventory, so knowledge of safe lifting techniques is important. You will collaborate closely with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to ensure smooth inventory flow and prevent stock-outs or overstock situations. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Manage stock adjustments, including receiving, transfers, and write-offs.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of inventory data in our WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with receiving and shipping teams to reconcile stock movements.
- Assist in optimizing warehouse layout for efficient inventory storage and retrieval.
- Support efforts to improve overall logistics performance through accurate inventory data.
- Participate in training on safe lifting practices and equipment operation if necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
