How you'll contribute 

The G Driver is all about helping our customers safely get the scaffolding and fencing they need to get the job done right.  Whether dropping off or picking up product, it's important to really listen, respond quickly, and show you care.  We want every customer to have a good experience so we do our best to understand what they need and make sure they feel looked after. Responsibilities include:

  • Transport scaffold equipment including fencing and edge protection to customers safely and on time.
  • Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and loaded and unloaded in a safe manner.
  • Remain professional both in conduct and appearance.
  • Install and dismantle temporary fencing on customer sites.
  • Provide solutions-based service and any necessary instructions and assist customers where required.
  • Immediately advise Dispatcher/Manager of all customer complaints.
  • Ensure equipment being picked up is not damaged and all appropriate accessories are included.
  • Follow all paperwork procedures related to the delivery and pick-up of products for customers.
  • Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the rental management computer system.
  • Complete all reports related to vehicle usage and customer stops including, but not limited to, Stop, Think, Act, DSI run sheet, and maintenance.
  • Complete daily truck inspection at the start of the day using the driver software application.
  • Fill the vehicle up with fuel at the end of every day.
  • Ensure all tie down gear is in compliance with MTO.
  • Report any damage or maintenance that has to be done on the vehicle to Dispatcher.
  • Check in with Dispatcher/Manager for duties and/or activities that need to be completed when not on delivery, such as pre-loading, equipment checks, etc.
  • Responsible for regularly maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, truck parking lot, and areas outside the Scaffold Division.
  • Adhere to all Provincial and Company safety standards and to any customer safety standards when on-site.

Every Stephenson's employee has a duty to report any unsafe working conditions and ensuring that they and their co-workers at all levels of work are wearing their PPE and following our SOPs and policies.

What you bring to the table

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year driving and delivery experience.
  • Valid G-Class Driver's License with clean abstract.
  • Must be able to lift and load up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Bona fide job requirement that you wear the following PPE safely and as per regulations:
    • Hard hat
    • Steel toed boots
    • High Vis vest or uniform
    • Safety glasses
