Job Summary:
Are you detail-oriented and organized? We are looking for a dedicated Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse facility in Columbus, Ohio. This role is essential for ensuring that all incoming goods are processed accurately and efficiently, forming the first crucial step in our supply chain. You will be responsible for unloading deliveries, inspecting products for damage, and verifying quantities against shipping documents. This position offers a stable work environment and a chance to grow within the logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
  • Unload incoming shipments from various carriers using appropriate equipment.
  • Inspect all received goods for any damages or discrepancies before signing for delivery.
  • Verify the quantity and accuracy of items received against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Document all receiving activities, including discrepancies, damages, and short shipments.
  • Tag and label incoming inventory accurately and prepare it for distribution to the warehouse floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, ensuring clear aisles and proper storage of incoming goods.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on Safety and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified) in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems for data entry.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations within a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of logistics and inventory management principles is a plus.
