Join our thriving logistics center in Des Moines, Iowa, as an Order Picker. This role is fundamental to our operational efficiency, focusing on precise order fulfillment. You will be instrumental in ensuring our customers receive the correct products in a timely manner. The Order Picker position requires a keen eye for detail, the physical ability to handle various products, and a strong adherence to safety standards. Working within our warehouse environment means you'll be part of a team dedicated to smooth logistics and exceptional service. Responsibilities:
- Accurately locate and retrieve products from warehouse shelves using order lists.
- Verify product information and quantities against order requirements.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area according to company standards.
- Strictly follow all safety regulations and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any damaged goods, inventory discrepancies, or safety hazards to supervision.
- Achieve individual and team productivity goals for order picking.
- Assist in other warehouse duties, including stocking and cycle counting, as directed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and order accuracy.
- Contribute to a positive and productive warehouse atmosphere.
- Manage time effectively to meet picking deadlines.
Previous experience in order picking or a similar warehouse role is advantageous. This position involves significant standing, walking, and regular lifting (up to 50 lbs). Strong attention to detail is essential for order accuracy. Ability to read and interpret picking tickets and labels. Must possess a solid understanding of safety practices in a logistics environment. A commitment to maintaining a safe workspace is paramount. Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the US. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued. Teamwork and effective communication skills are important. Understanding basic inventory control concepts is helpful. Must be able to work in a dynamic warehouse setting. Reliability and punctuality are critical. This role requires a robust work ethic and the physical capacity to perform the job duties, including frequent lifting and movement.
