We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our growing logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is paramount to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, directly impacting our supply chain efficiency. You will be responsible for conducting regular inventory audits, reconciling stock discrepancies, managing inventory adjustments, and implementing proactive measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, a meticulous approach to record-keeping, and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems. Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain precise inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving items, and report on inventory aging.
- Process inventory adjustments and transfers efficiently.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Collaborate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that involve lifting and handling inventory, typically up to 45 lbs.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Physical ability to perform lifting, standing, and walking duties as required.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing PPE.
