We are hiring an Order Picker to join our team in Detroit, Michigan! As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently retrieving items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that our customers receive their products on time and correctly. You will work closely with the shipping and receiving departments to maintain inventory accuracy and flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order lists or scanner instructions.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely.
- Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring they are protected during transit.
- Stage completed orders for the shipping department.
- Assist with stocking and replenishing inventory as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse activities.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and understand order pick lists and shipping labels.
- Proficiency in using warehouse equipment is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of basic logistics and warehouse operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
