Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our warehouse inventory, ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, physical inventories, discrepancy resolution, and implementing process improvements. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and reconcile any discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, including FIFO/LIFO where applicable.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, potential shortages, or overages.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend adjustments.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing teams to manage stock flow and resolve issues.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to maximize space utilization and prevent damage.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for all inventory movements.
  • Uphold strict Safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations and the correct use of PPE .
  • Assist with the training of new team members on inventory procedures.
  • May involve occasional moderate Lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, stock management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and WMS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics principles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to upholding workplace Safety standards and proper use of PPE .
  • Experience with inventory analysis and reporting is a plus.
