Our San Diego, California facility is seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of our warehouse equipment and systems. Your duties will include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making repairs to various warehouse machinery, such as conveyor belts, forklifts, automated storage systems, and other material handling equipment. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is essential, as is a commitment to preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. You will play a key part in ensuring our logistics operations run smoothly and without interruption. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a dedication to upholding the highest standards of safety. Familiarity with safety procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This role involves frequent lifting and maneuvering of equipment and parts, requiring physical stamina and the ability to handle up to 50 lbs regularly. The ideal candidate will possess a technical aptitude, experience in a similar maintenance role, and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Install and set up new equipment as needed.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Assist with inventory management of spare parts and supplies.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for equipment performance and warehouse efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Physical ability to perform lifting, climbing, and manual tasks associated with equipment maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if needed.
