About Us

EduTrend is a remote-first edtech startup building a behavioral tracking and analytics platform for students with special needs. With development underway and a beta launch planned for Fall 2025, we're seeking backend development interns who are ready to build reliable APIs, work with real data models, and ship production-quality features.

What We're Building

EduTrend enables schools and specialists to collect, track, and analyze behavioral data for early intervention and support planning. Backend interns will focus on the systems that power data integrity, performance, and scalability across our web and mobile clients.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services using and TypeScript
  • Design and implement GraphQL schemas, queries, and mutations
  • Model, store, and query data using MongoDB
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control
  • Use Redis or other caching strategies to improve performance
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to support end-to-end user flows
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, debugging, and production readiness

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience building backend services with
  • Experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs
  • Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Redis or backend caching strategies
  • Experience writing backend tests (unit and/or integration)
  • Exposure to Docker and CI/CD workflows
  • Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and backend architecture
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows
  • Clear communication and ability to work async in a remote team
