As a Small Commercial Project Engineer/Specialist, you will lead our existing CPS Energy workstreams, ensuring they exceed performance indicators such as schedule, budget, profitability, client satisfaction, and quality control. You'll mentor and supervise a team ranging from senior technical lead to entry level designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. As their mentor, you will be expected to host and conduct quarterly or biannual performance reviews for your team. Facilitating both in-person and virtual client meetings to serve as a feedback mechanism for the company will be a crucial component of your role. Additional responsibilities that this position entails:

  • Responsible for evaluating and hiring new team members to support project demands.

  • Manage a cross-functional team of designers and engineers supporting both CPS Energy's Small Commercial Department

  • Manage project financials, including project revenue projections and invoice review, while ensuring accuracy and accountability.

  • Oversee high-level project reporting and lead quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews for design deliverables.

  • Reviewing Weekly Unbilled Reports

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify project bottlenecks and implement efficient, scalable solutions to streamline workflows and improve overall performance.

  • Ability to proactively collaborate with other Project Leads and Project Managers

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Thorough understanding of project management principles (defining goals, resource management, stakeholder collaboration, quality assurance, risk management, project structure)

  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and technical details.

  • Experience managing a team of 5+ Team Members

  • Clear and timely communication internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Project Management or other experience related to Electrical Distribution

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • MBA or advanced degre
