Restaurant Host/Hostess

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest relations, communication, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring smooth seating operations to enhance the overall dining experience. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with strong interpersonal skills and familiarity with POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently
• Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times and restaurant policies
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
• Answer phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
• Coordinate with the service team to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
• Handle guest concerns or special requests promptly to foster positive guest relations
• Support the overall flow of the restaurant to optimize guest experience and operational efficiency

Experience

• Prior host/host experience in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required
• Background in food service, hospitality, or hotel guest services is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and attentive listening
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse guests effectively

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
