Construction Laborer/Firewatcher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Laborer/Firewatcher to join our team on various construction sites. This role involves supporting construction activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and providing firewatch services during hot work operations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a physically demanding environment. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the construction industry while contributing to safe and efficient project completion. This is a great entry level position to get your foot in the door in the Construction industry. It is also a great learning position to be in if you're interested in Steel Erection and welding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general construction tasks such as material handling, site cleanup, and equipment setup.
• Monitor work areas during hot work activities to prevent fire hazards, acting as a Firewatcher.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members regarding site conditions and safety concerns.
• Operate basic tools and equipment as needed for construction support tasks.
• Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to site management.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction or related field is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to construction sites and hot work operations is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Reliable transportation to reach various job sites.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime as required by project schedules.
• Ability to pass any required background checks or drug screenings in accordance with company policies. This position is vital for maintaining safety standards on our projects while supporting the overall progress of construction activities. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
