Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC project estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
• Conduct thorough construction estimating to determine labor, materials, equipment costs, and profit margins for each project.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop accurate pricing strategies aligned with project scope and client expectations.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards.
• Utilize construction site experience to assess logistical challenges and incorporate realistic cost control measures into estimates.
• Manage bid submissions efficiently by ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with project requirements.
• Support project management teams by providing cost analysis insights throughout the project lifecycle to optimize budgets and prevent overruns.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating within the HVAC or broader mechanical systems industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles, including contracts, scope development, and project scheduling.
• Familiarity with estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent platforms for accurate bid preparation.
• Proficiency in using Bluebeam for document markup and collaboration on technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, clients, and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms.
• Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into on-the-ground challenges affecting cost estimates.
• Excellent understanding of cost control practices and pricing strategies tailored for complex HVAC projects.
