About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Leader to oversee our manufacturing operations, drive process improvements, and ensure product quality. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Your expertise in manufacturing management and leadership will be critical to our success.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding quality and service-related matters, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, optimizing labor utilization, and enhancing safety protocols to create a safer and more efficient work environment.
  • Mentor and support production staff to ensure the efficient manufacturing of high-quality products, fostering a culture of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Ensure that staff have the necessary resources and training to operate their departments safely, implementing procedures and changes to minimize workplace hazards.
  • Evaluate and respond to reports and requests that directly impact the cost-effectiveness and quality of operations, making informed decisions to optimize performance.
  • Champion quality initiatives, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), to proactively identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring products meet the highest standards.
  • Manage costs effectively, including overtime, by implementing strategies to optimize resource allocation and improve productivity.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Human Resources to address and resolve personnel issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills
  • Associate's degree or demonstrated success in progressive leadership roles within the packaging industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • Proven experience in implementing manufacturing improvement methodologies.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with self-directed work teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive accountability and performance among production staff.
