Job Summary:

As a key member of the Morningside Team, the Lead Maintenance Tech will report to the Director of Plant Ops and EVS and assist with the strategic role in the management of maintenance. The Lead will have primary day-to-day responsibility for assisting with management of building maintenance and ensuring all staff are meeting the needs of residents and the San Antonio Campus is at optimum functioning condition.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide support to the Director of Plant Ops Environmental Services and the whole department;
  2. To inspect mechanical areas to ensure proper functioning and maintenance and maintain safety standards
  3. To supervise maintenance personnel;
  4. To interview, assist to hire and train employees as necessary, filling out all appropriate paperwork;
  5. To participate in orientation;
  6. To assist in implementing and to monitor departmental safety program;
  7. To maintain contact with vendors;
  8. To conduct inspections with vendors on equipment and coordinate for inspections with other departments;
  9. To coordinate with other department managers for special arrangements and set-up for special functions;
  10. To monitor the facility preventative maintenance program;
  11. To maintain inventory of parts and supplies at proper levels;
  12. To coordinate refurbishing of apartments when vacated;
  13. To repair complex mechanical and electrical components;
  14. To pick up parts and supplies;
  15. To maintain pick-up truck and golf carts;
  16. To deal directly with residents when performing service and repair functions in apartments;
  17. To oversee the work order system;
  18. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED; preferred degree in Associates degree in Administration, Operations Management or related field; or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job required.
  2. Ability to speak, read, and write English
  3. Minimum 5 years in building maintenance to include experience or completed courses in electrical, plumbing, heating, and air condition or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform essential functions of position.
  4. Experience in healthcare facilities management preferred
  5. Proficient in Time Management
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel data
  7. Must have and maintain a current valid state driver's license
  8. Prior supervisory experience preferred
