Overview
Join our dedicated caregiving team as a Caregiver working overnight shifts from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to residents in a supportive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being. Your efforts will ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during the overnight hours. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, or individuals experiencing memory care challenges. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' safety and well-being throughout the night, including observing for any changes in condition or behavior
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Conduct patient observations and vital signs checks to track health status and report any concerns promptly
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas by performing light cleaning duties
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to assist with mobility and prevent injury
- Document all care activities accurately in resident records and follow established protocols for patient monitoring and safety
- Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents during the night, including providing first aid or CPR if necessary
- Collaborate with team members to develop and update personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support techniques, and hospice care practices
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts reliably in a fast-paced environment
