What You'll Do:

  • Conduct leak detection work on Municipal water mains and distribution systems
  • Operate acoustic sensors, ground microphones, tracer gas systems, and other specialized tools
  • Fire hydrant maintenance/inspections
  • Plan field routes, collect data, and contribute to and write technical reports
  • Travel extensively across Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, and occasionally across Canada
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Drive a company vehicle on highways and in city environments.
  • Support shop and office tasks when not in the field
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Water distribution Level 1or 2 with a minimum of 5 years experience
  • Fire hydrant maintenance/inspection experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • 5-year driving abstract required
  • Physically fit: able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Safety awareness
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Self-starter, team-oriented, and accountable
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Comfortable around dogs in an office setting

Preferred but not required skills and training:

  • Experience using acoustic leak detection equipment
  • Safety certifications: Ground Disturbance II, WHMIS, First Aid

Pre-Hire Requirements:

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must provide:
  • 5-year clean driver's abstract
  • Criminal background check
  • Pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one

What You Can Expect:

  • Extensive field travel (company vehicle provided), occasional flights
  • 8–12 hour shifts depending on project; overtime and weekend work as required
  • Office hours when not traveling: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • No remote work — this is an in-person, field-based role

Compensation & Benefits: Starting at CA$28.00/hour (depending on experience) + overtime
