Optician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as providing exceptional customer service. Duties:

• Assist customers by taking phone calls, verifying insurances and scheduling patients.

• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their needs and preferences

• Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses and contact lenses

• Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance

• Adjust frames to ensure comfort and proper alignment

• Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses

• Perform basic repairs and adjustments on eyewear

• Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and other optical supplies

• Keep accurate records of customer prescriptions and orders

• Provide exceptional customer service at all times

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role preferred

• Strong knowledge of optical products, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses

• Familiarity with retail management practices

• Experience working with senior care patients is a plus

• Knowledge of physiology related to the eye is beneficial

• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Epic) is a plus

• Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes is beneficial

• Basic knowledge of vital signs is helpful

• Strong mathematical skills for retail transactions (retail math)

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Familiarity with medical terminology

Pay: $ $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
