E.J. Prescott is currently seeking a Smart Utility Sales Representative (Outside Sales Representative) to cover the state of Virginia. This person will be the primary point of contact for selling products and services for the Smart Utility Professionals, a division of Everett J. Prescott, Inc. (EJP).

This is an autonomous position with tremendous flexibility to drive long-term sales cycles, building and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors, and positioning EJP at the forefront of municipal modernization of their waterworks infrastructure.

The position will look to provide in-depth and technical support, sales, and guidance for Utilities involving smart utility solutions. The position will work directly with cities, municipalities, and engineers to develop comprehensive solutions that utilize leak detection systems and various water loss and monitoring technologies.

The specialist will work closely with all of TEAM EJP (E.J. Prescott) sales teammates and be responsible for growing solutions sales and strengthening the customer base with technical support and continued opportunity development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work within the sales team and independently to promote, develop, and grow sales:

o including leak detection equipment and systems,

o water/wastewater/stormwater monitoring technologies and software.

· Provide technical leadership (hardware, software, communication paths) in meeting the technology needs of cities and utility customers.

· Work with engineering firms to develop technical specifications and RFP documentation

· Work with the Smart Utility Team to develop and implement new solutions focused on helping utilities increase their profitability and system management.

· Continuously develop new skills, experience, and knowledge to promote the entire EJP solutions portfolio

· Attend and participate in local and regional trade shows promoting Smart Utility solutions

· Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with the Smart Utility Solutions team

· Promote and strengthen vendor relationships

· Travel assigned territory with overnight requirements

· Personify and promote TEAM EJP culture and core values

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Technical Sales experience in municipal process

· Strong preference for experience with water products

· Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products

· Experience developing technical proposals relating to leak detection solutions

· Conduct project communications with strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

· Must demonstrate the ability to facilitate meetings and presentations involving technical and multi-departmental audiences.

· Must possess excellent interpersonal skills in working with others inside and outside the company

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· Three (3) years of experience in technical sales

· Experience working with water, electric, and gas utilities.
