Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional minded and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our well-established dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance to both doctor and patients, while ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
• Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Take vital signs and medical history of patients prior to treatment
• Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records using Eaglesoft
• Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Assist with documentation for insurance claims and patient records
• Support the team with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer questions related to dental procedures and terminology
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential
• Experience with Eaglesoft is highly desirable
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is required
• Certification in dental assisting or related training is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures related to dental assisting

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
