North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital is growing and looking for a dedicated individual to join our amazing team as a veterinary technician We're a well-established, 3–4 doctor practice that values the unique talents, personalities, and perspectives each team member brings. A veterinary license is welcome but not required. Experience in a clinic, whether in the kennel, at the front desk, or assisting in a medical role—is a bonus, but we're happy to train someone with the right heart, attitude, and passion for animal care. What You'll Do – Veterinary Technician Responsibilities
You'll play a key role in supporting our doctors, caring for patients, and educating clients—while keeping our hospital running smoothly and safely.
Clinical & Patient Care:
- Take vitals, temperatures, and collect samples as requested
- Prepare and draw up vaccines, medications, and preventatives
- Assist with restraint and handling in a low-stress, safe manner
- Complete diagnostics and treatments as directed by the doctor
- Anticipate the needs of the doctor during exams and procedures
Client Communication & Education:
- Accurately document medical history, treatment plans, and doctor notes
- Review treatment plans with clients and obtain consent
- Educate clients on home care, medications, and general pet wellness
Hospital & Exam Room Support:
- Clean and restock exam rooms between appointments following OSHA standards
- Understand and help prevent the spread of infectious/zoonotic diseases
- Assist with inventory, restocking, and maintaining daily organization
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and communication notes in patient files
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods
- Comfortable kneeling, crouching, and reaching as needed
- Must be able to lift and carry animals and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with team assistance
