Über

We are currently recruiting for an IT Support & Infrastructure Technician. The successful candidate will be confident supporting computer networks, servers, and business systems, with strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 cloud and hybrid environments. Working within a small IT department, this is a hands-on position with opportunities to design, implement, and improve IT systems and infrastructure across approximately 150 users in 3 locations. The role will be based at our head office in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
*Key Responsibilities*
· Take the lead in receiving, logging, and prioritising issues via telephone, email, or in person within our ticket system.
· Escalate issues that cannot be resolved within SLA either internally or to third parties.
· Provide day-to-day user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and business applications.
· Carry out daily system checks and report to senior IT staff where necessary.
· Support and maintain networking, server infrastructure, and VPN connectivity.
· Assist with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune) and hybrid integration with on-premises systems.
*Infrastructure Duties:*
· Contribute to the design and implementation of network and server infrastructure.
· Plan and execute upgrades for servers, storage, and cloud services.
· Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve security, scalability, and performance.
· Document infrastructure designs and maintain configuration standards.
*Essential Skills & Experience*
Operating Systems:
· Windows Client OS (Windows 10/11)
· Windows Server (2016–2025)
· PowerShell scripting and automation
Active Directory:
· User and group management, GPO/GPP, scripting
Networking:
· DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, IP Subnetting
· VPN configuration and troubleshooting
· Experience with MikroTik routers beneficial
Microsoft 365:
· Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune
· Hybrid environment management
Hardware:
· Diagnose and repair PC hardware
· Build PCs from scratch including OS and software
Security:
· Implement and maintain secure configurations
*Desirable Skills*
· Linux OS (Debian, Ubuntu)
· IIS and Nginx configuration
· Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V)
· Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery planning
· Experience using Veeam for backup and recovery
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
