Structured Cabling Technician

As experts in cabling and wiring, we at KTS, Inc apply our expertise to plan, design, install and service reliable and scalable communication infrastructures that enable day to day operations at private schools, college campuses, health care facilities, research labs and office environments. We are looking for augment our team with a Technician.

This position will report to the assigned Lead Technician on a daily basis, with support from a dedicated project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Category rated copper solution installation
• Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation
• Pulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables and labeling to industry standards
• Terminating, assembling and installing 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors and optical fiber connectors
• Accurately testing copper and fiber cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment
• Diagnosing and correcting copper and optical fiber problems
• Reading blue prints to determine closet and equipment layouts
• Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures.
• Attending training and safety meetings, and working safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment.

. Requirements:

• Relevant experience and/or training (cabling, construction trades), preferably in Telecom industry
• Must be vaccinated.
• Desired, but not required: BICSI Installer/Technician certification (we'll pay for your certification, if we hire you and you don't have it yet)
• Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as needed
• Dependable and reliable with great attitude.
• Must be able to work safely following company policy/procedures on safety
• Must possess a valid drivers license and be insurable with our auto insurance carrier during course of employment.
• a minimum of 1 year experience in the field.
