FT Maintenance Technician/Handyman

We are a local property management company looking to hire a maintenance tech with skills and experience in multiple trades. We primarily need someone with basic handyman, basic HVAC, and basic plumbing skills. Basic electrical would be a nice bonus.

We do need someone who can actually do most of the work needed on residential properties. We understand that you may not have the expertise to fix everything, but we need someone who can proactively identify problems and diagnose who is needed to make repairs that are outside your expertise.

In addition to basic knowledge of these trades, there is also a lot of work related to door locks, door replacement or repair, cabinet repairs, installing appliances, sealing foundations, and other miscellaneous home repairs.

We are looking for someone who can work anywhere from 25-40 hours per week of contract labor depending on the candidate's skill set.

The hours can be fairly flexible, but there are occasional emergency situations where you will need to be available quickly. Again, this is rare, but it does happen.

You would have consistent weekly work, receive very competitive pay, guaranteed pay, and be able to work in a relaxed and friendly environment. All of the work that you do would be on residential rental properties and you would only be dealing with our company.

You would not have to deal with any home owners directly, and there is no sales component to the job. All of your work is for our management company and on properties that we own.

Please note that we need to hire someone who already has skills. You will predominantly be working alone and we do need someone with experience.

Job Responsibilities & Skills:

• Prompt communication, management of your schedule, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
• You must be able to be proactive and identify the most important and urgent tasks without someone micro-managing you
• You must be able to document your work and update our team on your daily progress and/or communicate additional help or attention needed on work orders
• Ability to complete basic carpentry work, basic plumbing, basic HVAC, and basic electrical, appliance install, and general maintenance work orders
• Ability for heavy lifting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling in a variety of work places and weather conditions
• Ability to occasionally be on call during after hours in case of emergency
• Must have at least one year of maintenance experience
• Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation
