Scherer Inc. is a fast-growing company in need of a motivated individual to assist in its expansion. Scherer Inc. produces replacement kernel processor rolls, offers a complete line of mill rolls for both stationary and portable roller mills and provides a full-service manual machining service for both repair and small production runs.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our team. A Welder/Fabricator is responsible for constructing, repairing, and assembling metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications. This role combines hands-on welding expertise with fabrication skills, including cutting, forming, fitting, and finishing metal materials. The Welder/Fabricator ensures all products meet quality, safety, and dimensional standards while maintaining efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High school diploma. Previous experience in welding helpful.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform welding operations on steel using MIG technique, spot welding, or other joining methods as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine welding requirements.
• Inspect and maintain welding tools and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
• Clean, cut, and position metal components for welding. Fabricate components using cutting, welding, bending, and grinding.
• Assemble parts or structures according to engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Operate press brakes, drills, and grinder. Set up, adjust, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards by performing visual inspections and using measuring tools.
• Repair and fabricate metal structures and components as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience as a welder or metal fabricator helpful.

Pay: From $25.50 per hour
