Do you have a passion for data and are adept at communicating it to others?

As the Business Systems Analyst Senior, you will serve as a valuable resource and a critical member of a large and diverse team committed to improving and protecting Maricopa County's air quality. The position focuses on providing professional-level research, analysis, and implementation of technology enhancements within the division in coordination with other county departments and vendors. This technology is the vital link between the production of air quality data and its dissemination to our internal and external customers.

We Require

  • Three years of related analytical experience, including work with complex relational database systems involving data acquisition, integration across multiple systems, and advanced analysis of complex data structures

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

We Also Value

  • Familiarity with Power BI to create and/or update reports

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud environment

  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) to update online websites and documents

  • Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from relational databases to ensure data integrity, support reporting needs, and fulfill ad-hoc data requests

  • Strong Microsoft Word skills and proficiency in collaborative tools such as Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft Planner

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data connections and queries to develop reports, charts, and analysis

Job Contributions

  • Identifies data quality needs and root causes; develops automated SQL/Python scripts and queries to improve data quality; builds and maintains Power BI datasets/models to deliver leadership dashboards and briefs that communicate accomplishments and areas for improvement.
