Maintenance Supervisor

Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Purpose: Conduct maintenance and janitorial activities related to Cape Leisure's concession operations at Florida Caverns State Park.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct service, repairs and replacements on facilities, systems, and equipment according to areas of expertise.
• Perform janitorial duties per preset schedules, including restroom cleaning and stocking, trash removal and interior/exterior cleaning and cobweb removal of the various structures on site under Cape Leisure's responsibility.
• Perform grounds maintenance per preset schedules, including weed eating, sweeping, blowing/pressure washing sidewalks, paths, parking lots, patios and other areas that fall under Cape Leisure's purview.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of rental kayaks, canoes, bicycles, and e-bikes.
• Operate and maintain our rescue boat.
• Assist with cave cleanings and lighting maintenance.
• Gardening duties, including light mowing and weeding.
• Assist with special event set-up, breakdown and clean-up.
• Adhere to all Cape Leisure policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to employee and guest safety, environmental, ADA and financial controls.
• Ensure that company assets, including equipment, money and inventories, are properly protected.
• Maintain a good knowledge of the park and current events to expedite guest inquiries.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Minimum of three years in the building maintenance, grounds maintenance or janitorial industry.
• Some carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and/or electrical systems skills required.
• Minimum of one year in a supervisory role.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire eight-hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.
• Must be able to tolerate working outdoors and in warm interior environments for an entire eight-hour shift.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
• Must be able to carry and climb an eight-foot ladder.
• Must be able to visually inspect the condition of facility.
• Must be comfortable in enclosed spaces underground.
