Reports to: Special Education Process Coordinator and/or Building Principal
General Summary: To provide students of Sikeston R-6 Schools educational instruction that will foster and accelerate their intellectual, physical, social, and career development in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities: 

1. Evaluate and identify students with potential speech and/or language impairments
2. Provide speech and/or language services to students as needed
3. Write student goals for speech and language services
4. Conduct meetings with parents and team members
5. Provide Medicaid billing services for the school district
6. Provide teachers with intervention strategies they can utilize with students in the classroom if there are areas of concern in speech or language
7. Complete IEPs
8. Write evaluation reports for speech only students
9. Complete IEPs and re-evaluations under the compliance timelines

Qualifications:

1. Education level �Master's Degree in Speech Pathology
2. Certification or Licensure � Appropriate and current Missouri Teaching Certificate in Speech & Language Pathology or ASHA certification.
3. Other requirements � Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills. Computer knowledge and assistive technology.
