Corporate Security Agent (CCW) — Menlo Park, CA

Job Type: Full-time (non-exempt W-2). Part-time/on-call pools also considered.
Compensation: $35.00/hour (overtime per California law).
Location: On-site at a corporate campus in Menlo Park, CA.

What You'll Do

• Provide low-profile protective coverage for executives, employees, and guests across a Menlo Park corporate campus.
• Conduct access control, lobby presence, roving patrols, and employee/visitor escorts with a hospitality mindset.
• Monitor CCTV/alarms, triage incidents, and coordinate with site facilities and local first responders when needed.
• Perform threat recognition, de-escalation, and incident response using the minimum reasonable force; document accurately.
• Maintain situational awareness of the campus, sensitive areas, and scheduled movements; support special events.
• If authorized for the assignment, carry a concealed firearm in line with California law, local policy, and VCPG SOPs.
• Complete clear daily activity reports (DARs), incident reports, and shift handoffs.
• Uphold VCPG's brand: professional appearance, courteous communication, and strict confidentiality.

Schedule & Pay

• Shift length: 12 hours. (Day and Grave shifts available)
• Rotation: 3 days on / 4 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off (alternating 36-hour and 48-hour weeks).
• Overtime: Per California law, 4 hours of time-and-a-half each 12-hour shift (hours 9–12). Double-time applies where legally required (e.g., hours over 12/day or certain 7th-day scenarios).
• Status: Non-exempt W-2 with overtime; paid training for approved courses.
• Paid Sick Leave: Provided consistent with California requirements.
• Additional site-specific premiums may apply for holidays or special events.

Minimum Qualifications

• California BSIS Guard Card (active and in good standing).
• BSIS Firearm Permit (Exposed) and recent quals; willingness to complete any additional VCPG quals.
• Valid California CCW permit issued by a Bay Area authority; ability to meet client/site requirements (including employer listing if required).
• Clean driving record and a valid California driver's license.
• Exceptional communication and customer service; mature judgment and calm under pressure.
• Report writing proficiency (concise, factual, court-defensible).
• Availability for nights/weekends/holidays as needed; reliable transportation.
• U.S. work authorization and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Strongly Preferred

• CPR/AED/First Aid current certifications.
• Experience in executive/corporate protection, campus security, or public safety.
• Training in de-escalation, behavioral threat assessment, conflict management, and report writing.
• Prior military, law enforcement, or high-end corporate security experience (honorably served veterans encouraged to apply).
