Laboratory Technician

A Lab Technician is responsible for carrying out lab procedures to produce the highest possible quality concentrates and oils. The lab technician must be willing to learn on-the-job to perform multiple tasks involving complex extraction equipment. The position requires the lab technician to be willing to take direction from managers and work in a largely autonomous environment. The lab technician is additionally responsible for data collection and reporting related to the tasks being performed daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold the highest standard of safety and compliance within the lab and enforce the same standard among direct reports.
• Perform or oversee day-to-day extraction and production processes of distilled oils.
• Accurately track production and finished goods and coordinate with lab management to ensure efficient use and production of materials and finished products.
• Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment within the different production rooms.
• Adherence to a weekly production schedule that meets the needs of the clients of Procan Labs.
• Research, development, and implementation of new or improved processes or products to ensure we remain competitive within the market.
• Performs work under direct supervision.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Diligent, Punctual and Ready to work
• Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Similar lab experience preferred.

Requirements:

• Must be over 21 years of age.
• Available for on-site operations work Monday-Friday.
• Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities- not hours; must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Willingness and ability to undergo cross-training in various roles within the department as required.
• Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and/or working on a computer.
• Able to stand up to 4 hours at a time.
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments, hot or cool.
• Be able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and twist for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
