BCTV WEB CONTENT MANAGER/STATION ASSISTANT-PART TIME
The Town of Belchertown is accepting applications for a part time, up to 19 hours per week, Web Content Manager/Station Assistant to support Belchertown Community Television's (BCTV) operations, content production, and digital presence by managing digital content, engaging with social media platforms, organizing equipment and contributing to creative production tasks.
Major duties include: Manage and upload video content to platforms such as YouTube and Castus; add timestamps, captions, and metadata to enhance accessibility and viewer experience; create playlists and design graphics; extract summaries and transcripts from recorded meeting or events; regularly post to digital platforms including social media channels to promote programming and events and monitor for engagement; assist with maintaining broadcast calendar with timely content; organize and maintain inventory of equipment and studio for readiness for use; troubleshoot minor technical issues; develop short-form video content for social media and other platforms; design slides or visual assets for presentation or broadcast; participate in creative and engaging content development; teach workshops when applicable.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Experience with studio equipment and familiarity with digital platforms such as YouTube, Castus and social media networks; basic knowledge of video editing tools, graphic design software or content management systems desirable. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment; willingness to learn new skills (i.e. drone operation) or adapt to new technologies including AI-powered tools (such as ChatGPT, Copilot or other generative AI platforms) as needed. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing equipment and studio. Skill in creating visually appealing graphics and developing engaging video content for various platforms, skill in operating studio equipment.
The hiring range is $ $20.00 per hour, up to 19 hours per week, non-benefited position.
