Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols.
  • Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Manage medical imaging and ensure proper documentation of procedures in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology.
  • Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the clinic adheres to all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge and aseptic technique.
  • Support the dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and medical records management is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
  • Certification or training in X-ray technology and chairside assisting; experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
  • Ability to perform vital signs measurement and operate medical imaging equipment accurately.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and general dentistry procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $29.62 per hour
