Financial Controller

Minutemen Direct is seeking a
hands on
Controller
to lead financial operations and drive business performance for a manufacturing company in Garrettsville, OH. This is a direct hire opportunity and pay is $110k-$120K range.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals. Advise leadership on economic trends, tax code changes, and operational adjustments.
• Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare and present financial reports that summarize income, expenses, and earnings.
• Forecast future performance based on historical and current data.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Lead the budgeting process, review proposals, and provide supporting documentation and justification.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain strong internal controls in line with GAAP.
• Audit & Risk Management: Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
• Payroll & Costing Oversight: Supervise payroll systems and establish product pricing based on costing structures.
• Team Leadership: Directly supervise accounting, AP, and AR teams. Hire, train, and develop staff while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including financial reporting and forecasting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Controller-level experience in a small business environment with broad financial oversight
• Supervisory experience, with a proven ability to manage and develop team members
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• High proficiency in Excel and experience preparing budgets and cash flow projections
• A proactive, detail-oriented leader who understands how every function impacts the bottom line
