Responsibilities
Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications, concept and detailed design, and conduct design reviews, estimations, site supervision and support. Provide technical support to the team on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design. Prepare plant and equipment specifications, power cable route specs, tender specs, technical and progress reports. Ensure correct interface with other engineering functions, attend and conduct internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors. Perform technical calculations including cable size, rating, TMF, EMF, sheath induced voltage, and other. Perform design reviews, verification of design. Ensure all project designs comply with CDM regulations, relevant legislation and company procedures. Assist with temporary works design schemes. Maintain good working relations with client/designer/team and supply chain. Ensure drawings and specification documents contain accurate information for construction; formally request missing information in sufficient time. Ensure inspection and test plans are completed as required by PMP/Specification, including a check of dimension accuracy and quality. Qualifications
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Electrical Power Engineering (Degree or equivalent). Previous experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in the energy sector. Extensive experience in a cable related role supporting FEED design and/or detailed designli> Ability to manage and lead HV/EHV cable designs at all project stages. Experience using CYMCAP to support cable system design. Experience working at EHV transmission voltages. Experience in design of HV and EHV cable systems for both HVAC and HVDC systems. Benefits
