Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Liquor Store Manager to oversee daily operations of our retail establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory control, sales strategies, and customer service. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team and ensure the store's success through effective management, merchandising, and operational excellence.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise store staff, including recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service.
  • Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS transactions, and shift management.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock ordering, merchandising, stocking, inventory control, and pricing strategies to maximize sales and minimize losses.
  • Work with owner to implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase customer engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulations related to alcohol sales and store policies.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
  • Monitor sales performance using retail math and sales management techniques; analyze data to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs and work on your feet for extended time periods.
  • Develop strategies for store promotions and marketing campaigns to attract new customers while retaining existing clientele.
  • Utilize wireless sales tools and POS systems efficiently for transactions and inventory tracking.

Requirements

  • Proven management experience in retail sales or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, training & development, and employee orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, POS systems, retail math, merchandising, pricing strategies, and cash handling procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in budgeting, purchasing, stock control, marketing initiatives, and administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and payroll.
  • Experience with shift management, sales management techniques, retail management best practices, and store operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of alcohol regulations and legal compliance related to liquor sales is preferred but not required.
  • Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in a retail or grocery setting is highly desirable. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
