We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our growing team.
Position SummaryThe Surgical Technologist assists in the daily operations of the operating room, ensuring that all procedures are performed efficiently and safely. This role supports surgeons and nurses by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team to deliver the best possible patient outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare operating rooms and surgical instruments according to established procedures.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
Maintain sterile fields and follow aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
Assist with surgical counts and initiate corrective actions when needed.
Operate and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in proper working condition.
Assist with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, and OR turnover.
Ensure the surgical suite remains clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and staff to support optimal patient care.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
Experience: Minimum 1 year operating room experience required; 2 years preferred.
Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent training required.
Licensure: Current BLS certification required.
Skills:
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of sterile processing standards and surgical equipment operation.
Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Fast-paced surgical setting with occasional overtime.
Must be able to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting, etc.).
Requires adherence to strict safety and aseptic standards.
