Janitor/Cleaner

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure a hygienic and welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have prior janitorial or custodial experience and possess a strong work ethic with attention to detail. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained facility while developing skills in cleaning, maintenance, and facility upkeep.

Duties

• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across various areas of the facility
• Conduct specialized cleaning tasks such as floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, offices, and common areas according to established standards
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed
• Operate cleaning equipment including buffers, floor scrubbers, and other custodial tools
• Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored
• Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or related fields such as industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and stripping floors
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness in cleaning tasks
• Good organizational skills to manage time efficiently during shifts
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures is a plus, including residential painting or porter experience
