Jim Vreeland Ford is looking for a detailed, experienced Mainline Automotive Technician to help us provide exceptional service to our service drive customers.
Job Summary In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for automotive service, contributing to a positive customer experience through quality workmanship.
Our service department is growing, and we are looking for someone with at least 5+ years experience as a mainline technician. Diesel and/or transmission diagnostic experience is highly desirable. ASE and/or Brand Certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
- Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols
- Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner
- High school diploma or GED is required
- An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
- Strong customer service and communications skills are required
