Overview:
The FH Brunch Factory is seeking a motivated and dedicated Prep Cook/Line Cook Intern to join our culinary team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic kitchen environment while contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality brunch dishes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for food, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients and components for menu items, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning proteins.
  • Line Cooking: Work alongside experienced line cooks to assemble dishes according to the established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food items meet quality and safety standards, adhering to food handling and sanitation guidelines.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work station, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Support fellow kitchen staff in a collaborative environment, communicating effectively to ensure seamless service.
  • Adherence to Standards: Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations as dictated by local and federal guidelines.
  • Learning and Development: Actively participate in training sessions and seek opportunities to expand culinary skills and knowledge under the mentorship of experienced staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary school enrollment or completion is an asset.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a kitchen setting is advantageous but not required; a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
