Provide general as well as high-level administrative support toward day-to-day operations of the office of the inaugural Chair of the department of Internal Medicine, including scheduling meetings, assisting with various departmental meetings set up, addressing external queries, and communicating with departmental faculty and staff on behalf of the Chairman.
Human Resources Liaison functions:
In conjunction with the IM department administrator, will process all internal medicine HR documents in Workday for faculty, staff in the department. Will process HR Forms for employees and route through all the necessary channels. Ensure that documents are received, uploaded and processed in a timely manner.
In conjunction with the IM department administrator, will work closely with the KSOM HR to facilitate the process of faculty recruitment, personnel hiring, and termination of department employees. In conjunction with the KSOM HR personnel will coordinate interviews for prospective staff and faculty candidates and oversee interview, recruitment, and onboarding processes. Will serve as the primary point of contact between the IM department and the UNLV main campus HR.
In conjunction with the IM department administrator, will act as HR liaison and point person between department and KSOM HR. In conjunction with the IM department administrator, will work with UNLV main campus HR to address employee concerns and HR matters. Will keep the department Chair abreast with any issue or concern.
Will work with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine (KSOM) as well as UNLV main campus personnel and administrators to facilitate project completion.
Order and purchase of department supplies, office materials, maintaining inventory; monitor, review and approve expenditures within authority delegated by the Department Chair.
Process travel reimbursements, expense reports, spend authorizations, ensuring all documents required for approval are uploaded into Workday. Verify and record Internal Medicine billing daily for monthly reporting.
Coordinate the onboarding, training and orientation of staff to department policies, standards and procedures. Oversee and direct activities to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Internal Medicine department as directed by the Chair.
Serve as the Internal Medicine Department Community Faculty Appointment Liaison, ensuring all materials for faculty appointment are received. Create an internal system to process, track and engage all community faculty. Work closely with Community Faculty Committee and Chair to submit recommendations for appointments and updates in electronic files.
