Veterinary Technician

Are you looking for an environment to expand your veterinary nursing skills while working with a supportive team? Heritage Oaks Veterinary Hospital is in search of a positive and energetic veterinary technician that is eager to further their career in veterinary medicine.

Previous veterinary technician experience is required, but we are willing to train and build on basic skills with the right candidate. We strive to practice high quality medicine and continuing education opportunities are provided by the practice. Our veterinary technician's skills must include, but are not limited to: excellent client communication, blood sampling and placement of intravenous catheters, proper low-stress restraining of animals, knowledge of diagnostics (blood work and urinalysis), and experience in taking both dental and full body radiographs. Having experience in anesthesia monitoring is preferred, but not required.

At Heritage Oaks, we encourage a strong work-life balance, and every effort is made to keep our schedule appropriately booked and get out of work on time We are a privately owned, single doctor practice that has no weekend shifts, after-hour emergencies, and we do not allow non-emergent walk-ins. We practice low stress handling techniques and will not force pets (or ourselves) through stressful patient interactions that are secondary to fear, anxiety, and stress. This is a no-tolerance hospital, meaning we do not tolerate abusive client behavior towards our staff. We treat our clients with respect and kindness and demand the same in return
