Data Analyst with Netezza

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with expertise in Netezza to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing insightful reports, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a strong foundation in database management, data visualization, and analytics tools, with a focus on delivering actionable business insights.

Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain data models and databases using Netezza, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data using tools such as Talend and scripting languages like Python, Bash (Unix shell), and VBA.
• Create and optimize SQL queries to support reporting and analytics needs.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports utilizing Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and Visio for visual data presentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Conduct business analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Support project management activities within Agile frameworks and SDLC methodologies.
• Maintain documentation of data processes, database design, and system architecture.
• Engage in business intelligence initiatives including linked data integration and analytics projects.

Skills

• Proficiency in SQL programming with experience in Netezza, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Expertise in ETL processes using Talend or similar tools.
• Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker.
• Knowledge of database design principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with programming languages including Python, R, VBA, and Bash (Unix shell).
• Understanding of SDLC processes and Agile project management methodologies.
• Ability to perform business analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Knowledge of linked data concepts and analytics techniques.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
