Primary Function

The Patient Information Desk Operations Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the information desk at the main entrance of the hospital, ensuring efficient and accurate support for patients, visitors, and callers. The supervisor must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask, processing approximately visitors and patients on a regular business day. The supervisor ensures that staff are creating a welcoming and secure environment and supports volunteers assigned to that area.

Responsibilities

Manages distribution of visitor passes and ensures proper identification is documented in Easy Lobby Application prior to allowing access to patient care areas, in alignment with hospital security protocols. Monitoring vendor check in and badging station as well.

Oversees workflow & check in for outpatient appointments, coordinating with Testing & Admitting, Endocrinology and the Imaging Center to ensure patients are directed to the appropriate area.

Provide guidance, training, and oversight to the frontline staff and volunteers to ensure consistent customer service and adherence to hospital protocols

Monitor staff use of patient EMR systems used for patient locations which include admitted patients, emergency room patients and surgical patients.

Oversees employee and volunteers' schedules.

Maintains updated list of providers in the ambulatory building and ensures staff have adequate resources for directing patients. Maintains office supplies for information desk and the main lobby area.

Specifications

High School diploma required, associate degree preferred. Must have one to three years of experience in the Healthcare Industry supporting high quality customer service, data entry, information technology support, onboarding and vetting process for the demand driven programs. Must have demonstrated ability to perform in fast paced environments and handle multiple duties. Must be proficient in the English language and fluency in Spanish helpful but not required.
