Our firm is looking for a seasoned concrete estimator, that is a G0 Getter, Self Starter with a can-do attitude to join our dynamic team. This position is considered a full-time position M-F starting at 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. under the leadership of the General Mgr. This role requires the person to be on site. This individual will be responsible for the full scope of estimating activities for specific construction projects, including preparation, interpretation and presentation of estimates.
- Review & interpret project plans, specifications, and structural concrete requirements to determine scope of work and applicable cost factors associated with each project.
- Creates subcontractor & material supplier bid lists.
- Maintain and update unit price databases, productivity factors, and historical cost records.
- Prepare bid forms, quote letters, and subcontractor bid lists, and distributing drawing.
- Participate in bid compilation & final proposal submission on bid day.
- Develop pricing strategies with the end goal of winning bids. Make sound business decisions while mitigating risk.
- Attend and schedules oversight meeting as needed. Communicate with operations during the strategy meeting on the approach to the project or estimate.
- Negotiates the best deal for cost, quality, plus delivery using the company buyout procedure.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of contract documents and assesses the potential risk and cost for a given project.
- Extensive care to detail with contract negotiations. Voice concerns or risk immediately as they arise with proposed contracts.
- Manages the buy-out process, writes requisitions, plus communicates all required information to the Team.
- Assistance given in the preparation of preliminary construction schedule & work plans.
- Key player in design meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Visit on-going projects to verify status of estimate vs project status, meet with the project operations team, view work in place for experienced and compare the estimate.
- Analyze and develop quality estimates using accurate data and cost history for labor, materials, equipment, trucking, and subcontracted work to ensure precise and timely estimates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management, or a combination of 5-10 years' experience as a concrete estimator with working knowledge of structural concrete estimating.
- Strong ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
- Proficient in concrete quantity takeoffs, labor productivity analysis, and cost modeling.
- Superior verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent Soft Skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Procore, Primavera, Agtek) for reporting and planning.
- Working knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems and site surveying.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements
· Occasionally lift 15-20 lbs.
· Requires prolonged sitting periods up to eight hours
· Requires using a computer for 95% of the time.
