Kennel Attendant Part time

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest standard of care while maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
• Assist with animal restraint during veterinary procedures or grooming sessions as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
• Support dog training initiatives by reinforcing positive behaviors and following established training protocols.
• Handle heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning equipment as required.

Experience

• Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred, including roles such as kennel assistant, veterinary technician, or veterinary assistant.
• Familiarity with dog training techniques and pet grooming practices is highly desirable.
• Experience in customer service roles is beneficial for effective communication with pet owners.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
