Position Overview

The Part-Time Substitute Teacher supports the academic and behavioral success of scholars by maintaining a structured, joyful, and productive learning environment in the absence of the classroom teacher. This role ensures continuity of instruction, upholds school expectations, and contributes to a positive school culture aligned with Clarksdale Collegiate's mission.

What You'll DoSupport Scholar Learning

• Implement provided lesson plans with fidelity to ensure high-quality, standards-aligned instruction.
• Maintain a structured, safe, and joyful classroom environment that supports student learning.
• Uphold established classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
• Monitor student work, facilitate activities, and provide support to scholars as needed.
• Use positive reinforcement and school-wide behavior systems to promote student engagement.
• Administer classroom assignments, quizzes, or assessments as directed.

Ensure Classroom Continuity

• Follow pacing guides, schedules, and class procedures left by the teacher or grade-level team.
• Communicate any issues, concerns, or notable student behaviors to the appropriate school personnel.
• Complete required attendance, documentation, and other administrative tasks accurately and on time.

Collaborate & Support School Needs

• Build positive relationships with scholars through professionalism, consistency, and empathy.
• Work cooperatively with grade-level teams, administrators, and support staff.
• Assist with other school duties as assigned, including hallway transitions, lunch/recess coverage, or dismissal support, when applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet all state and organizational requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
